Agency staff working for CPFT who require access to CMM EPMA used on CPFT inpatient wards.

Self-directed learning - approximately 2 hours.

Course summary:

This course is an introduction to CMM EPMA system and its functionality. Provides the users with the fundamental skills to use and navigate the system.

This course focuses on nursing functionality within CMM EPMA system. Providing the users with the key skills to view administration rounds, administer medication, and create supply request for medication.  

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the session you should:

  • Understand the basics of CMM EPMA system, including logging in and out, searching for patient record and viewing updating patient details.
  • To be able to navigate and differentiate between the Inpatient Rx, Monitoring and Assessment and Administration tabs.
  • Understand Medication Administration Profile (MAP) and Medication Administration Chart (MAC) reports and how to produce them.
  • To be able to navigate and understand the Administration Round Tile, including Medication Administration Scheduler (MAS) periods and viewing patients’ administration status.
  • To be able to use Full and Quick chart functions to administer medications, record non-administrations, self-administrations and administration notes.
  • Understand how witnessing of medicines administration is recorded.
  • Understand the process for submitting supply requests for medication for inpatient use
  • Understand how supplies requests for short term-leave are made
  • To be able to view administration history in the administration tab and navigate back to the administration round.
